Volume 11, Chapter 2: "Seirun"

Short Summary[]

Weed and his companions arrive at a vampire village in Todeum where they spot 2 vampires guarding the entrance. Due to their lack of information about the kingdom they just arrived in, Weed figures that it's still too early to declare war on something. He instead walks up to the village entrance with only Geomchi 5 as his bodyguard to try to befriend the entrance guards. Along with providing a bit of flattery, Weed decides to sculpt for them a Little Girl Miniature after remembering that Tori loved keeping Prina by his side as a frozen statue. He hands the sculpture gift of an innocent-looking little girl over to the guards, which they joyfully accept. Seeing that Weed is a Sculptor of fine arts that the rest of the vampires will surely love to see, the guards officially welcome him to their village of Seirun.

Shortly after, Weed returns to his companions to inform them that they can also be granted entry to Seirun if they befriend the guards the same way he did. Amongst the boys, Pale, Zephyr, and Mapan are forced to hand over gifts to the guards to get in, but amongst the girls, Surka, Romuna, Maylon, Hwaryeong, and Yurin are allowed in for free due to the vampires simply loving the sight of pretty girls. Irene is allowed in as well, but is warned to keep her holy magic in check when she's roaming the vampire village. Due to Seechwi being the only orc character amongst Weed's party of humans, the vampire guards refuse to allow her to enter since they view the orcs to be an inferior race. The 2 vampires also refuse to allow Geomchis 1-505 to enter Seirun since they refuse to suck up to the vampires as a means to preserve their pride.

In an effort to get the Geomchis into the vampire village, Weed offers to teach them the Sculpting skill so that they can provide gifts to the entrance guards. However, it soon turns out during sculpting practice that the Geomchis are unable to learn the skill due to their low Wisdom stat that steadily dropped over time from performing repetitive actions. Weed plans to send the Geomchis off to hunt monsters around Seirun so that they can invest their level-up stat points into Wisdom, which will allowr them to obtain the Sculpting skill some time after. However, since night is falling and the city is starting to become active, the streets fill with pretty female vampires. All the Geomchis decide it is perfectly fine to suck up to the guards.

Trivia[]

  1. Weed's party see that the Todeum village they came across has 2 vampire guards protecting the entrance. Weed decides to step forward alone to see if he can initiate dialogue with the guards while Geomchi 5 states that he will come along as his bodyguard.
  2. Geomchi 5 is said to be someone that Weed finds to be completely trustworthy, and is someone that never shows fear when he comes across monsters.
  3. It's said that territories on the Versailles Continent that were controlled by a monster race serves as popular hunting grounds. Goblin lands for example are said to be the broadest hunting grounds where their areas are usually seen with goblin forts built out of wood. Due to monsters lowering the production of kingdoms, the lords would commission players and people to hunt down the monsters, which would reward them with Fame and loot.
  4. Geomchi 5 asks Weed why he's not choosing to just attack the vampire village, which Weed answers that suddenly starting a war will do them more harm than good since they don't have any useful information, or if it's 100% confirmed that they're even in Todeum.
  5. The 2 vampire guards halt Weed and Geomchi 5 at the village entrance, and order them to turn around since humans aren't allowed in. Weed makes conversation with the hostile vampires to try to befriend them by pointing out how nice the sky looks for the bats to fly around, and that their clothing, such as their Cloak of Darkness, look like such exquisite items. The left vampire calms down a tad, but the right vampire is still in battle mode.
  6. To calm the 2 vampire guards down further, Weed pulls out Zahab's Engraving Knife, and claims that he's going to sculpt for them a gift using some Nabemok crafting material.
  7. To increase intimacy, the simpliest way is to give praise to someone to boost their ego, but doesn't have a long effect since its the most basic method. Other more tougher methods include performing actions according to the person you're sucking up to enjoys, as well as performing their trials or quests. Another simple method is to just provide gifts.
  8. Weed remembers how Tori seemed to prefer little girls given that the Vampire Lord kept Prina as a frozen statue back at Morata Castle, and decides to sculpt a miniature sculpture of a little girl who appears as a flower-garden-loving innocent kid. Weed hands the miniature over to one of the guards, which they agree is a lovely fine arts gift of a girl that's truly to their living.
  9. One of the guards asks if Weed is a Sculptor, which the latter admits he is. The vampire admits that they've never done business with a Sculptor before to enjoy these types of works, which the guard then officially welcomes Weed into the village of Seirun.
  10. Weed returns to his companions to inform them that the guards will grant them entry to Seirun village if they provide the guards with flattery and gifts. Some of the gifts the males provide include a Water Buffalo Tail and a Ring while the vampires allow the girls to enter for free given that they love pretty girls.
  11. The vampires give Irene a warning not to use her holy magic while in the village. Vampires are said to feel unpleasant around believers of God, such as Irene, but the vampires weren't condemned, and enjoy living in the night, which makes them fine to let Irene walk around in Seirun as long as she doesn't bring about light from her holy magic.
  12. The 2 vampire guards refuse to let Seechwi in due to being the only non-human in the party as an orc. Vampires are said to consider orcs as inferior creatures, and refuse to let them roam the streets alongside vampires that are of noble status.
  13. The Geomchis are the next to step foward to try to enter Seirun. Geomchi 5 ends up trying to inform the guards that their scary faces are going to scare away visitors, which forces Weed and Zephyr to calm him down before a fight breaks out. Geomchi 3 is the next to try simply patting a guard on the shoulder for doing a job well done, which ends up pissing off the vampire guards again. In the end, Geomchi 2 makes it clear to Weed that they got their pride, and are not going to suck up ot vampires.
  14. Reaching a point in advanced Sculpting where he can teach others, Weed suggests for the Geomchis to learn sculpting from him so that they all can provide gifts to Seirun's entrance guards. He manages to convince Geomchi 2 and company that providing sculpture gifts is a good way to attract girls towards them.
  15. Weed sculpts a bush outside of Seirun to use as a placeholder for what Geomchis 1-505 need to copy for Weed to eventually pass them. Given their high weapon skills, the Geomchis use small weapons as their sculpting knives. However, the Geomchis are unable to learn the Sculpting skill due to their low Wisdom.
  16. Weed asks the Geomchis how high their Wisdom stats are. Amongst them, Geomchi 3 mentions he currently only has a 6 Wisdom stat while Geomchi 4 is only at 5 Wisdom. Amongst the 500 practitioners, one of them mentions that he has a Wisdom stat of 3.
  17. Geomchi 3 explains it to Weed that while all the Geomchis started at 10 Wisdom stat, and increased up to 60 when they all obtained the Martial Artist class, their Wisdom stat steadily decreased over time due to their repetitive actions hunting monsters, and never did anything to make up for it.
  18. After hearing Geomchi 3's story, Weed orders the Geomchis to go out and hunt the monsters near Seirun, and put level-up points into Wisdom so that they can learn the Sculpting skill. Weed warns the Geomchis that lack of Wisdom will cause them to not be able to learn new skills when the situation requires them to do so.
  19. It's implied that the Geomchis hunted to gain a couple levels, and earned enough Wisdom points to obtain the Sculpting skill, and provided sculptures to the guards. Weed and his party enter Seirun. They come across the Seirun's marketplace area where female vampires try to sell different types of apples.
  20. The vampire women are described to have slim waistlines with sizzling bodies that make them look like pure and innocent looking girls, which pleases the Geomchis. They attempt to offer their remaining Barley Bread if it means that they can serve a beautiful female.
