2) The Barbarian race, I don't recall reading about a player having this. The race is mentioned in V24 [especially C10-11], but this is just NPCs. V16C3 sometimes referred to the 3 tribes as savages / barbarians, but also seemed like he was referring to Embinyu Church members as barbarians [V16C5 only Embinyu members are referred to as savages], so maybe V16 doesn't have any barbarians, but just translation problem. Are there no examples and only brief mentions like V21C1 ?
3) Key to unlock Empire, V21C1 the bird does say that 5 races only need to live in the controlled region, but Weed seems to wonder if they need to be player species that can start from level 1 within his region. Maybe the novel clarified later on, but if it hasn't I think this might need to be mentioned.
4) Might want to add a section for non-playable humanoid races : Fairies, Trolls, Lamia, Chaos Warriors, Inferno Knights, Fire Giants, and probably many more.

Hey Phil1403, going to make this quick since I was supposed to get off awhile ago for work early tomorrow morning.
For easier access and navigation between the translated pages of the light novel on this wikia, could we perhaps introduce some templates into the page?
I'm talking about an infobox at the top of each page with links to the chapter before and after with a list of any character debuts. Then some smaller condensed infoboxes with a list of every chapter number in the light novel.
For an example, here's a link to the wikia that I help out as one of their main contributors (6082 edits, ranked 2nd in users, 3rd if we include unregistered anons):
PS: I had to do a quick search for the chapter with least 15+ content. Feel free to look at the other chapters to see how we've set them out, I think you'll agree that it's a little neater and easier to get around.
No webnovel on the wiki, instead a summary section. We just left the few missing chap there, temporary, out of compassion for the newcomers in the LMS community. Actually they are not supposed to be there. Sorry
I made a template for all of the different classes in Royal Road, split into 5 categories (will be 6 if a hidden support class is revealed).
I'm gonna start doing the same for Races and Locations soon.
Locations will be separated into categories such as: Kingdoms, Forbidden Zones, and Dungeons. I'm also thinking of doing a separate location template for each individual Kingdom, listing what dungeons and hunting grounds are in it.
1. I'm not making page layout templates, just navigation box templates that sit at the bottom of the page. Basically this:
2. I'm already on the LMS Discord server using the same name. I've been giving updates on my editing progress for these Navbox templates in the wiki and novel-kingdom channels. My profile icon is the Pokemon Zorua wearing armour.
Please respect the existing template and work from there.
Because there 903 pages on this wiki.
What we need, is to keep everything under the same editing policy, not that every new editor restart from crap.
This might sound frustrating, but it already was a hell of a job to clean 60-70% of the mess.
Ok world description section need to be split. This is one of the section, where we kept piling up content, improving it in the process by adding source, Korean translation, story interaction & kingdom.
Not sure, content is mature enough.
Rather full of holes.
So before adding any new layout, I would start by sorting things out and filing the gaps.
But hey, why not ?
2 class description
Section is definitevely NOT ready.
Many translation issues
Data not gathered nor proofchecked. The content is problematic there. Your box s gives the impression it is not... well, this is hiding the underlying the issue. Good or bad ? I wonder.
Just to clarify, the templates I started talking about in my reply 1-2 days ago have nothing to do with the templates in my original comment.
The original comment was about infoboxes for the chapters. The ones I've been working on that my replies have been talking about are Navboxes (Navigation Boxes) that sit at the bottom of the page.
Good examples of them include the Shaman page for the ClassList Navbox template and the Avian page for the RaceList Navbox template.
Several different wikis I visit have them, some of which are collapsible Navboxes (which I would use here to reduce their size, but I haven't attempted to make them before)... but not all wikis use them.
The main wiki I edit has them on 90% of it's pages (848 pages to date), which were copied from Bulbapedia.
For now, I'll hold off from applying any more until I read this policy and we can come to an agreement on whether to keep these or not.
EDIT: I sent this after the "I'll be back home in 3 days" reply so I didn't get to see what you thought of my Navboxes
1. I agree that the general World Locations needs some help, maybe separating both "Kingdom"s sections from the "Forbidden Zones" and "Dungeons" sections, maybe even taking the "Dungeons" section out and giving it its own dungeon Navbox that'll only appear on the dungeon pages.
2. For the classes, I think it looks fine for the moment, but if you're worried about how most of it doesn't have any links, I could try to create a page for each of the other classes using your Class Template and try to flesh out each of these pages using what's been taken from the series and common knowledge.
3. Aside from creating a page for the Fairies, Heriam, and a general page for the Undead (I can't link the Category Undead inside the Navbox unfortunately), there isn't much I can do there.
My pleasure on adding what little help I could. Although, tbh, I don't think I'll do ALL that much.
I started LMS by referral of a friend, I generally don't like the ln genre as a whole (it seems like it's a requirement for authors not to give a flying **** about detail, consistency, and evolution, and that is not okay with me). LMS in particular has quite strong negative points that are upsetting me more than a bit.
Add to that that I have yet to find ONE decent translation after 11 volumes...
Thing is, it reached a point where I HAD to read the summary of each chapter after finishing the chapter cause there were entire sections that I had not understood. And so I decided to just edit the pages a bit if I see something wrong or some minor grammar or phrasing mistakes.
As I said, my pleasure helping a bit, but... not sure I'll be much help. I'm not even sure I'll reach the end of this work xD
Yup, in English. But that's my problem, I'm only at V13 so far.
V1-2 were okay(ish). V3 was so incredibly terrible that I had to switch tranlation group. V4-5 were okay(ish). But then at V6, the "new" group I am reading apparently joined forces with the old one (the terrible one) and decided to use the old one's translator. So the quality dropped amazingly. Then it stabilized a bit, albeit if just "average" on quality, but every now and then there are still some really poorly translated chapters.
So yeah, I'm looking forward to reaching V20 for the good translations... but I'm wondering if I'll be able to xD
I see... if you want, you can make a list with the 50 volumes and rank each volume from 1- 5
5 - great
4 - nice
3 - just OK, but berable
2 - bad translation, mistakes, confusion, need proofcheck
1 - unbereable, need full retranslation
For each volume, you can give a few example of why you are rating it that way.
This document could help to restart a full cleaning, starting with the worse volumes.
How would that go, though? Are there even people bothering with re-writing early volumes after 5 years?
In any event, if you want an example, here's one.
Volume 3, Chapter 1 (by Japtem): [A random paragraph] "Death Knight of the undead were have came from will listen solely because loot just assume bastards want to Holding all your!"
Granted, I went to the trouble of singling out the ABSOLUTE WORST paragraph of the chapter. It's not like ALL of it was this bad. But to be honest, it wasn't MUCH better either...
At that point, as I said, I moved onto another group (royalroadweed) which, although still not great (not even good by objective standards), was much better than Japtem and, in general, was acceptably okay. Except at some specific chapters. And then on V6-7, can't remember, they joined with Japtem (who were no longer at the terrible level of V3, but were still much worse than what royalroadweed had been doing).
So back to my question, exactly how would that help? Or rather, how would it work? (I'm not complaining or critizing, I'm honestly curious as to what you have in mind to accomplish with this).
I mean, I could rate V3C1 as a 1 (not a 0 cause would be absoulte Google Translate and I THINK there was SOME editing in there)... but it still wouldn't be fair, cause that's what I got from Japtem. Royalroadweed's wasn't THAT bad (probably a 3). So we would be critizing/reworking the work of ONE group, but there's actually a few of them, so...?
EDIT: V13C10 by Royalroadweed was also quite messy. A 2, quite possibly (I'm only adding this cause I just read it and I didn't want to forget it XD)
There is a persistant wish to translate/update some parts of the translation. It will probably happens, sooner or later, either when the translation team fnds a second translator or after author ends LMS.
Well, it's quite obvious.
But here a few more reasons.
1 - the description within the wiki, for example, force us to check/proof-check various elements, step by step...
2 - There are also various debate about LMS description, based on the author habit to break up/spread up a description in various pieces.
3 - The skipping of key elements in a bad translation makes it very hard sometimes to get a clear picture of an element, and forces us to search through the texte in Korean.
Hm... Sure, all of that makes sense, but it wasn't really my question.
What I meant is: "how do we do that?". I mean, so I decide to make that document you mentioned, I read V1, decide that it's a 1 (just making stuff up here), and since it's so amazingly terrible it NEEDS to be retranslated/rewritten.
And then... what? We mail Japtem, the group I used to read V1 (although Royalroadweed had their own version, which was different [and probably better]), tell them "hey, we at the wiki have decided that your V1 is awful, please re-do it"? (Obviously I know we would be more diplomatic and stuff, but you get what I mean). And... we expect them to do it just because? I mean, the blog has been getting complaints about the low quality of the chapters (when they are low quality) for 5 years...
Hm... in any event, I think I might join the Discord channel... Might be more comfortable to speak there than here.
1 - About translation, there is an existing LMS translation team working at the moment. I know the team is quite aware of the issue
2 - How you make the document. Just use your excel/numbers app... or whatever tool you use. Work on a basic template. Then, once template is done, we can help improve it.
Or even better, go on discord, and discuss it at an even earlier stage. Nomendil for example will probably help you with it.
Once template is satisfying, just add your appreciation, at your own pace. And by the way, just by writing/ describing/explaining your appreciation on so many chapter, you will raise your skill quite a bit.
Share it with us.
This will gives te team a consistent basis to pre-select a few key volumes.
Once this is done...
The discussion within the team will help refine/define the priorities.
Final step: translation will start at the first opportunity. It could even start earlier as a new project.
As a said, it's by starting a project in a consistent way, that things happens.
And by the way, that's how the latest LMS translation team emerged.
In regards to the reference tags, would it be okay to add a short description to each reference that contains the sentence from where the information is obtained? This would help tell the references apart, and we could still maintain the current format.
Title? We can change that later, no problem ^^. I mean the table itself, might be too vibrant/ bright? Unfit to LMS wiki's current theme. I made this table to show upside and downside of wearing the item.
